Nine translations of Dutch gambling warning text

Licensed gambling operators in the Netherlands are legally bound to inform consumers about gambling risks when advertising gambling products. In 2021 a warning text was chosen by a committee of independent organisations for addiction treatment from a list of five texts developed by a behavioural change agency (D&B), guided by the Trimbos-institute. To facilitate non-native speakers in the Netherlands, the existing warning text was professionally translated in 2022 to six languages, in close collaboration with the behavioural change agency that developed the text.

The warning text is independently and formally translated into English, German, Polish, Arabic, Turkish and Chinese. Three additional casino initiated translations were screened and included as well: French, Romanian, and Bulgarian.
